Vantage inside Norims
What changes in the Norims edition: no signup, auto-provisioned workspace, Norims data source?
Alex Morgan runs Northwind Traders on Norims. When Northwind turns analytics on, Alex gets Norims Vantage: the same Vantage, set up from Norims, with Northwind's Norims data already flowing in. This page lists what is different from Vantage bought on its own.
Vantage runs as one of two editions, fixed when it is deployed: standalone, sold on its own with plans and billing, or Norims, part of Norims. Everything not listed here works the same in both.
Getting in
| Standalone Vantage | Norims Vantage | |
|---|---|---|
| Name and logo | Vantage | Norims Vantage |
| Creating a workspace | Create a workspace on the sign-up page | None: the workspace is the Norims organisation, set up when analytics is turned on in Norims |
| Signing in | Vantage's own sign-in | The Norims sign-in, with the same account as Norims |
| Who can sign in | People with a login in the workspace, up to the plan's member limit | Anyone who can sign in to the Norims organisation, with no member limit |
| Pricing and billing pages | More → Billing, and public pricing pages | None; Norims bills for it |
When Norims turns analytics on for an organisation, it sets up the workspace and a first project named after the organisation, such as Northwind Traders Project, before anyone signs in. The first person from the organisation to sign in becomes the workspace Owner and the project's admin; everyone after them joins as a member, in no project until an owner or admin adds them (see Members and roles). A person's workspace role is set from their Norims sign-in the first time they sign in; after that the owner changes it in More → Users.
The Norims data source
Norims sends the organisation's own data to Vantage. Norims registers each Norims table as a Database (n8n) source in the first project, scheduled to sync on its own, so sales, stock, purchasing and the rest arrive without anyone adding a source. Each one behaves like any other database sync: Sync, Pause syncs and the rest are on its row in Data (see Connect a source).
Whether the data flows depends on the organisation's Norims plan. On a plan without analytics, dashboards over Norims data stay empty, and installing a pack says "This organization's plan does not include the Norims data feed, so these dashboards stay empty until it moves to a plan with analytics." A widget waiting for the feed asks Norims to turn it on again as it waits.
Charts use the time zone set for the organisation in Norims.
Packs
Catalog gains Base packs: Bytefount's packs of views, models and dashboards over the Norims data, and packs Bytefount builds for your organisation, served from the pack registry. Installing one needs the admin role in the project, or a workspace owner or admin. Standalone Vantage has no registry. See Registry packs and upgrades.
Plans and limits
Norims Vantage follows the organisation's Norims plan, and the standalone plan limits on members, data sources, rows, refresh schedules and the SQL Editor do not apply. AI depends on the Norims plan:
| Norims plan | AI actions a month | MCP server |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | None: "Your Starter plan does not include AI. Growth lifts it." | No |
| Growth | 600 | No, "Pro lifts it" |
| Pro | 2,000 | Yes |
| Enterprise | 2,000 | Yes |
An owner or admin still turns AI on for the workspace under More → AI (see What the AI can see). If Vantage cannot read the organisation's plan from Norims, AI features say "AI is unavailable right now. Try again shortly."
